Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists (COMP)

The Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists (COMP / OCPM) is the national professional association for medical physicists in Canada. Its mission encompasses advancing excellence in medical physics practice, promoting professional standards and competencies, and supporting the growth of the field across the country. COMP provides a range of services to its members, including resources on scope of practice, ethics, quality assurance, educational and training supports, and career development opportunities. It also organizes conferences, lectures, and learning events and publishes technical and scientific communications. COMP engages with stakeholders, governmental bodies, and partner organizations to influence policy, promote science, and ensure that medical physics contributes effectively to patient care and health-system needs in Canada.
