Canadian Association of Physician Assistants

The Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA / ACAM) is the national organization representing Physician Assistants (PAs) in Canada. Its mission is to advocate for and support PAs across the country, promoting the integration of the profession into Canada’s health care system in order to improve patient access to high-quality care. CAPA emphasizes establishing and maintaining high standards and competencies for the profession. The association’s vision includes full recognition of physician assistants in every province and territory, as well as enabling PAs to practice broadly within the Canadian health system. CAPA is committed to values such as accountability, advocacy, innovation, ethics, respect, diversity, responsiveness, and teamwork, and it engages in activities like professional advocacy, credentialing support, public awareness, and member services to advance the role of PAs in Canadian health care.
