Canadian Association of Railway Suppliers

The Canadian Association of Railway Suppliers (CARS) is a member-driven industry association that represents companies supplying products and services to freight railways and transit systems in Canada and abroad. Its mission is to serve as the voice of rail and transit suppliers by connecting industry, government, and communities, while promoting dialogue, innovation, and solutions across the sector. CARS’ membership comprises more than 150 firms from across Canada, particularly concentrated in Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta. The sectors most represented among its members include locomotive components, freight car parts, and track equipment. CARS works to maximize business opportunities for its members by providing timely information on contracts, procurement, and industry news, and by advocating to governments at federal and provincial levels. Through regular engagement with Members of Parliament, policymakers, and civil servants, CARS seeks to influence legislation, policies, and funding decisions to foster a competitive and vibrant railway supply industry in Canada.
