Association of Professors Retired from the University of Ottawa

The Association of Professors Retired from the University of Ottawa (APRUO) is the officially recognized organization representing retired academic staff—including professors, librarians, and counsellors—at the University of Ottawa. Its mission is to promote the well-being and interests of its members by engaging directly with the University administration, the pension plan committee, human resources, and the Association of Professors of the University of Ottawa (APUO). APRUO negotiates on behalf of retirees for improved benefits, maintains membership on key university bodies, and advocates in matters affecting its members. It also fosters community among retirees through social and cultural events, regular communications, and collaboration with other retiree associations such as the Administrative Staff Retiree Association (ASRA). In addition, APRUO administers a scholarship fund that provides financial assistance to dependents of current and former University of Ottawa employees.
