Transforming Event Registration: How CALP’s Symposium 2025 Set a New Standard
Discover how CALP upgraded its event registration system with Members Village, leveraging Nation Builder + Conference App to enhance engagement, streamline workflows, and drive registrations for its 2025 Symposium.

A Seamless Upgrade for a Leading Event
For over 13 years, the Community Adult Learning Program (CALP) has been a valued partner of Ignite, creators of Members Village. This year, we had the opportunity to elevate their digital experience, upgrading their communication and registration process. The result? A seamless, modern, and highly engaging registration experience that’s already making waves.
A Bold New Look, A Flawless Launch
CALP’s Literacy & Learning Symposium is a premier professional development event. With high engagement and strong community connections, their registration platform needed to reflect the sophistication and energy of the event itself.
- A user-friendly registration portal that simplifies the attendee experience.
- Dynamic content integration, featuring session descriptions, keynote details, and planning tools.
- A secure, cloud-hosted CRM that allows for seamless participant management & targetted communications via the Broadcast & Forms Builder apps.
- Enhanced automation and reporting to streamline workflows and provide real-time insights.
- Flexible visibility settings that allow public-facing content for prospective members and partners while enabling exclusive member-only access to additional resources upon login.
Seamless Collaboration, Outstanding Results
Transforming a registration system isn’t just about functionality - it’s about creating a digital experience that enhances engagement and strengthens an organization’s brand. The CALP team played an essential role, providing valuable feedback every step of the way.

Before
2024 “Power of Community” Page
2024 “Power of Community” Page
- Layout & Visuals: The 2024 page was more text-heavy, with a basic banner and smaller graphics. It relied on links and PDF downloads (e.g., “Session Descriptions,” “Symposium Tipsheet”) placed in a vertical list.
- Navigation & Structure: Information was somewhat scattered, requiring extra clicks (e.g., separate PDFs for session info). The side menu (“Popular Resources,” etc.) was present but felt secondary to the main text.
- User Experience: Users had to read through multiple paragraphs and click into PDFs or separate pages for more details, making it less streamlined.
AFTER2025 “Making Waves” Page
- Layout & Visuals: The 2025 page features a more modern, bold banner with wave graphics. There’s a clearer visual identity aligned with the “Making Waves Symposium 2025” theme, creating immediate engagement.
- Navigation & Structure: Key info (e.g., “Food & Clothing,” “Hotel Info,” “Register Now”) is grouped under a “Symposium Survival Guide,” which is neatly listed for quick scanning. Calls to action (e.g., “Register Now,” “Planning Tools”) are more prominent.
- User Experience: Overall, the design is more intuitive. Users can quickly find essential details and are guided through next steps without excessive scrolling or multiple PDF downloads.

RESULTS-TO-DATE (February 2025)
- 68% of max capacity registered and paid within 2 weeks of launch
- Improved user experience has decreased number of inquiries made to the staff and decrease in manual changes to session selections
- Attendee feedback has been positive and excitement for the Symposium is high
