Making more room for artists to be seen. Welcome, North Shore Artists' Guild.

Art needs artists, it also needs an audience.

For nearly eight decades, the North Shore Artists' Guild (NSAG) has been helping bring those two groups together. Founded in 1947 as the West Van Sketch Club, the Guild has grown to approximately 250 members across Vancouver's North Shore, from Howe Sound to Deep Cove. Its purpose is rooted in increasing the appreciation of original art while helping artists develop through demonstrations, workshops and exhibitions.

NSAG also creates opportunities for members to put their work in front of the community, including through in-person and virtual shows where artists can offer paintings for sale. Much of that work is supported by volunteers.

Now, the Guild is preparing a new digital home with Members Village.

More than a place to find information.

A website for an artists' organization has an interesting job. It needs to explain the organization, keep members informed and make administration manageable. But it should also do something more important: help the art get seen.

That is where NSAG's new member directory becomes especially interesting.

Members will be able to build their presence within the Guild's website and upload their artwork for visitors to discover. For artists who already have their own websites, the directory can become another path for people to find their work. For those who don't, NSAG plans to go further, giving visitors an opportunity to purchase available artwork through the Guild itself.

In that sense, the directory won't simply be a list of names. It can become an ongoing digital exhibition: a place where an artist can be discovered between shows, where someone can encounter a painting they hadn't been looking for, and where membership creates another tangible connection to an audience.

Members Village's directory software is designed to connect public-facing profiles with the association's underlying member information, while giving members the ability to manage their listings through the member portal.

Behind the scenes, Members Village apps will also connect NSAG's website, membership database and renewals, payments and member portal so that more of the everyday work can happen in one place.

We're delighted to welcome the North Shore Artists' Guild to Members Village.

Sometimes better technology isn't about adding more things to manage. It's about removing extra steps between an artist, their work and the person who might fall in love with it.

The tools for the task.

Artist Directory

This is where NSAG's new platform has the opportunity to become something more than a website.

Members will be able to showcase themselves and their artwork, creating a searchable public destination for discovering North Shore artists.

The Guild plans to make that opportunity even more useful by acting as the online shop on their behalf, allowing visitors to discover and purchase their artwork through NSAG.

Website Builder

An association website works best when keeping it current doesn't become a project of its own.

Members Village's Website Builder will give NSAG a connected place to manage pages, content and member-facing information while keeping the website tied to the tools behind it.

Members & Payments

Membership is what keeps the community connected. A central member database and online payment process will make it easier for NSAG to manage member information and renewals, while giving members a simpler way to maintain their membership.

Member Portal

Members will have a secure place to update their information, manage routine membership tasks and maintain the details that connect to their directory presence. That means fewer administrative steps for volunteers and more control for the artists themselves.

Good technology should leave more time and attention for the work people actually came together to do.

Let's see if Members Village fits.

Your association's technology should make it easier to support your community, not give you another collection of systems to manage.
